Living in Summerhillconally3.JPG

Why live in Summerhill?  For us residents, it's hard to imagine living anywhere else!  There are a lot of reasons to live here, but here is what we hear the most:

  1. Location, location, location
You are minutes away from the apex of Atlanta's major highways with quick access to I-20 and I-75/I-85.  Wherever you're going, Atlanta's main arteries of transportation are never far away.

  2. You can't beat the commute
If you work in downtown Atlanta, you are literally 5-10 minutes away IN RUSH HOUR!  Summerhill is the ideal location for anyone working in the myriad of Fortune 500 companies downtown, Grady Hospital, and the Atlanta and Fulton county city governments.  The airport is only 15 minutes away, making those early morning flights a lot more palatable.  So, if you are wasting you life away in the car, move on into Summerhill and get to know your family again.

  3. You can walk to Turner Field
Baseball fans laugh at their good luck to be so close to Turner Field.  Your extended family will beg to use your driveway for parking.  Your kids will get free firework shows on a regular basis.  Summerhill residents get an allotment of free Braves tickets every year.  If you aren't a fan, you'll have trouble not being caught up in the excitement.  Go Braves!

  4. You can walk to the Atlanta Zoo
Summerhill residents are just blocks away from the Atlanta Zoo in Grant Park.  Many of us have annual memberships for the whole family.  It's kind of a social thing to walk over there on Saturday or Sunday.  Are you a walker or runner?  Get an annual pass and add the lions to your regular route!

  5. Grant Park, Phoenix Parks I and II, and the Olympic Track
There are acres of parks to enjoy with your family and pets in and around Summerhill.  Grant and Phoenix park both have plenty of playgrounds and outdoor cooking facilities.  Grant Park boasts an enormous pool, a baseball field, two basketball courts and several tennis courts.  Take a three mile run around the perimeter of Grant Park, then end up at Phoenix on the same Olympic track the 1996 Olympic athletes used to train on.

  6. New homes in an intown neighborhood
Looking for a modern home with all the facilities you're used to from a home in the suburbs?  Not looking to fix up one of those cramped older homes with no closets and an antiquated kitchen?  Summerhill is one of the few intown neighborhoods where you can build a newer home with all the amenities a modern family needs.  Many of our existing homes have garages and carports-- a rarity intown.  We still live in the tight knit layout of an urban neighborhood, but that means you can say hello to your neighbor-- not just wave to them from your car.

  7. Know thy Neighbor
Friends and family who visit us all comment on how the neighbors all seem to know each other and actually say "Hello" when they walk around the neighborhood.  Whether we're out exercising, walking the dog, or eating at one of the local eateries, Summerhill neighbors sooner or later get to know each other.  It's part of being in a pedestrian neighborhood.

  8. Prices for mere mortals...
If you thought that intown houses were being priced beyond the reach of mere financial mortals, take a look at Summerhill.  You'll still have to pay for the location and quality of the home, but our homes are some of the most reasonably priced you'll find for what you get, making them a great place to start your intown investment.

  9. Have more time for yourself...
Modern life doesn't leave much time.  One thing we all hear from our neighbors is that they don't know how they ever managed when they were commuting one, two, even three hours a day.  Cut that commute out, and have time for a nice morning or evening jog around the neighborhood.  (Don't forget to say hello!)

  10. See more of the ones you love...
Has everyone finished dinner by the time you get home?  Does the dog no longer wag his tail?  One more reason people move here is to be able to spend more time with the people that matter most...

That's why we're here!  Look forward to having you as a neighbor!
